El
nombre Punto Cardinal remite al deseo de
resignificar los lugares impactantes de
nuestro país desde un sentido trascendente. Implica, prioritariamente, abrir el
espíritu para contemplar la Creación en toda su variedad y magnitud,
refiriéndola a Quien la diseñó desde su infinita sabiduría.
Para
ello invito al lector a un tránsito que parte de la imagen, observada de una
manera diferente. Ángulos y
perspectivas, gamas de colores, luces y sombras y, sobre todo, el deleite de
dejar correr la imaginación para descubrir nuevas formas en el horizonte que todos pueden mirar; pero
pocos ven.
Sobrevolar
el paisaje desde la lente de quien supo descubrir bellezas que están incluidas
dentro de otras que las abarcan.
En
cuanto a los textos que acompañan, surgen como respuesta a la intención de
abrir ventanas, a través de las
diferentes fotografías, a fin de dejar en palabras las emociones que luchan por
manifestarse. Sentir que el alma traspasa la periferia del contorno humano y,
en una sola experiencia, ser caminante que busca. Como lo hizo Ulises.
Conocer
y conocerse. Forjarse hombre nuevo a través de las oportunidades que se nos
presentan.
Imaginemos nuestro suelo
desplegado, desde el centro (1) hacia los laterales, hacia arriba y abajo. Argentina focalizada y dividida en
Norte, Sur, Este y Oeste.
Ya
se dijo: el punto inicial es el centro.
Hemos sido dotados de un principio supremo individual.
Ese
punto inicial desde el cual se comenzó a gestar nuestra humanidad que, a su
vez, se desarrolla y mueve en un plano
que remite, nuevamente, a aquellos cuatro puntos cardinales. Igual que los
maderos de la Cruz, ésa que Jesús tomó para redimir nuestra débil humanidad,
elevándola simbólicamente a su hombro.
Redime
redimiendo.
Los
convoco, ahora, a relacionar estrechamente cada Punto con cada una de las
cuatro Virtudes Cardinales.
La
adjudicación de cada virtud a cada punto
cardinal se ha concretado desde mi visión personal, pues considero que,
simbólicamente, se complementan una con la otra.
Este-Prudencia
Oeste-Templanza
Sur-Fortaleza
Norte-Justicia
En
cada capítulo se desarrollarán más explícitamente las afinidades descubiertas
entre estos cuatro puntos y las correspondientes virtudes adjudicadas.
De
esta manera, lo Cósmico, lo Psíquico y
lo Crístico se unen. Lo de afuera y lo de adentro. El paisaje y el espacio
interior, habitado por el hálito divino que nos ayuda a trascendernos a
nosotros mismos.

Hago extensiva la invitación para
este viaje a cualquier creyente, o cualquier ser humano que, más allá de la
forma en que manifieste su religión, sienta que está en un camino de
crecimiento espiritual.
(1) El paso de la circunferencia a su centro
equivale al paso de lo exterior a lo interior, de la forma a la contemplación,
de la multiplicidad a la unidad, del espacio a lo inespacial, del tiempo a lo
intemporal.
Con todos los símbolos del centro
místico se intenta dar al hombre el sentido del "estado paradisíaco"
primordial, enseñarle a identificarse
con el principio supremo. Este centro es lo que Aristóteles denomina
"motor inmóvil" y Dante
"L’Amore che muove il sole e l’altre stelle".

The name Cardinal Point refers to the
wish of revaluing the magnificent places of our country, from a transcendent
point of view. This means, to open the spirit and contemplate the Creation in
all her diversity and greatness, referring her to Whom designed her from his
infinite wisdom.
In order to this, I invite the reader
to a journey, departing from the new observation of the image. Angles and
perspectives, color ranges, lights and shadows and, above all, the delight of
letting imagination run free to discover new shapes in the horizon, where
everybody can look at, but just a few can see.
To fly above the landscape, looking
through the lens of whom discovered beauties enclosed in other ones, that
embrace them.
The accompanying texts appear as an
answer to the intention of opening windows through photographs, in order to put
the emotions, fighting to reveal themselves, into words. To feel the soul going
beyond the human outline and becoming, just in one experience, a pilgrim in
search of. Like Odysseus did.
To know and to know oneself. To forge
oneself into a new man through the opportunities that have being offered to us.
Imagine our soil spread out, from the centre[1]
to the sides, up and down, Argentine focused and divided in North, South, East
and West.
It has been said: the initial point is
the centre. We have been gifted with an individual supreme principle.
This initial point, from where
humanity has been conceived, develops and moves in a level that also refers to
the four cardinal points. Like the wood of the Cross that Jesus took to redeem
our weak humanity, raising her, symbolically, on his shoulder.
Redeems redeeming.
I convoke you now, to relate closely
each Cardinal Point to the four Cardinal Virtues.
The association of each point to each
virtue has been made from my personal point of view, since I consider that they
complement each other symbolically.
East – Prudence
West – Temperance
South – Fortitude
North – Justice
The affinity discovered between the
four points and the different virtues will be developed, in detail, in each
chapter.
This is the way in which the Cosmic,
the Psychic and the Christian get together. The outside and the inside. The
landscape and the interior space, inhabited by the divine breath, that helps us
to transcend ourselves.

The step from the circumference to the centre is equal to the step from the
outside to the inside, from the shape to the contemplation, from the
multiplicity to the unit, from space to the spaceless, from time to the
timeless.
All the symbols of the mystic centre attempt
to give to the man the sense of the primordial “paradisiacal state”, to teach
him how to identify himself with the supreme principle. This centre is what
Aristotle called “immobile engine” and Dante “L’Amore che muove il sole e
l’altre stelle”.
